The paper that comprises each Ogami notebook is made from limestone

Repap (that’s “paper” backwards) is made up of 80% calcium carbonate (CaCO) from the limestone recovered from caves and used in the construction industry and 20% from nontoxic resins (high-intensity polyethylene). Processing reduces the calcium carbonate to a fine powder, and the polyethylene acts as a binder. This is a “clean” manufacturing process, the company explains, and does not use water or emit toxic agents into the air. Repap doesn’t contain chlorine or acids, and it is respectful of the environment.

Ogami notebooks feature REPAP, an innovative, revolutionary paper that’s tree-free, waterproof, and won’t even give you a paper cut. Safety first, people. The result? Paper that is naturally white and give the writer a beautifully smooth experience.

The company is based in Milan, Italy, and makes all of its notebooks on site.
